So Far Behind

I can't believe it's been more than 2 weeks since my last post! I am feeling a bit guilty.
I received a beautiful lavender gift basket from Lisa at www.lisascreativedesigns.com.
There were so many wonderful things in my basket, handmade soap, candleholder and some pretty handmade tags. My very favorite was the glittery white 'hugs' sign. I am a big fan of those! I am using the basket that it all came in for an 'inbox' for my regular mail. That helps keep things a little more organized. Lisa also has a blog.
I'm sure she would love it if you visited and left a comment.
THANK YOU, LISA!

Blessed Beyond Measure

Have you ever had a day when you were so excited your heart could hardly stand it? Friday was a day like that for me. I was finally able to meet one of my blogging favorites, Janis of Junk Dreams.
She is an amazing artist and as Anne of Green Gables would have said, we are kindred spirits.
I have chosen a special word for 2010, rather than doing the usual New Year's Resolution. It was an idea I got while reading renowned scrapbooker Ali Edwards blog. It is a word that I chose - looking for quotes, art, whatever I may come across to bring back my own personal peace.
I have seen Janis' work in The Passionate Home and contacted Janis, asking if she would create a special piece that I could have in my home to focus my thoughts on. As you can see, she agreed. We met at a local coffee shop, she had four for me to choose from. These are the two that I brought home. Janis, you are indeed a special person, and I thank you.

My sister took the photo of Janis, Carrie and myself at the Passionate Home. A day I will surely not forget.

Little Things

I believe we were made to be creative beings. I feel that creativity helps to heal. I have been looking for simple projects that I can work on while I am getting better. With the inspiration and encouragement from dear Ana at A Petite Cottage I was able to make this little button heart from some thrift store bits I already had. It was just the kind of medicine that I need right now. Thank you so much, Ana.
I am so encouraged by all your comments from my many friends in blogland. You are all so wonderful, you touch my heart.

On the Mend

I am SO desperate to do something creative and pretty. I got this idea from Therapy 4 Roses.
I used a tiny frame from Michael's - it was Christmas stock for 75% off. It is hanging around a new little white bird, also from Michael's.

Silver Sunday/White Wednesday

So what does one do when one is behind on their blog posts? Well this busy blogger combines them! Clever, don't you think? I wanted to show you my silver bowl with wire flower frog that I found at the Thrift Store for under $7.00.
I put a dozen white baby roses in it for our Christmas dinner centerpiece. My first successful flower arrangement.

It was a big hit with the family. I am looking forward to reading everyone else's Silver Sunday and White Wednesday posts. You can click on the side bar button to get to either one of them.
And, Thanks for stopping by.

Silver Sunday

For my first Silver Sunday I wanted to share the coffee pot night light that my DH and I made.
The entire inspiration came from my friend, Janis. You really should take some quality time to visit her blog, Junk Dreams. She has the most amazing ideas.
My DH did the electrical bits and drilling as well as the polishing. *grin*

I added the bling. We even did the shopping part together. We had such a great time picking out all the pieces.

Just the right touches.

I loved all the detail on this pot that we found.
Thanks to Beth from Gypsy Fish for a fun party.
