My Wee Garden

This is the terrarium that I got for my birthday with a few plants in it. I will be looking for a square container to plant them in. Oh, the thrill of the hunt!

Got "Purse-onali-TEA"!

The tablescape.
Tea for six.
The cake
The wonderful gifts!
I am so blessed (and definitely tired lol)

New Light in the Kitchen

The electrician was in this week to do some re-wiring for us. DH installed this new chandelier over the kitchen table (another gift from his Mom). We are now ready for the drywall. The kitchen is really coming along nicely.

A Sneak Peak

I made place cards tonight for a tea I am co-hosting on Saturday. These are the theme colours. I will post more after the tea. Should be a great time!

Pink and Chocolate

Who doesn't like pink and chocolate?
Peanut M&M's anyone?
The pretty lace vintage hat I got today is perfect for summer tea parties in the garden.
I started making an art journal. I'll be using these vintage books that I also picked up today. Do you recognize Dick and Jane? Kind of takes me back.......

Happy Father's Day

For Father's Day I got some pink roses (don't they smell lovely!) and a pedicure. lol
What did you get? Poor DH had to work a graveyard shift so spent the whole lovely, sunny day trying to sleep. The kids all called to say hello, that was really nice. Hearing from them all on one day was very special.

He's Got Talent!

This is the little rock garden that my DH made for my MIL for her birthday. He made one for our backyard last year and it is really doing well. I think he is very talented.

Where or Where......?

Found this precious bowl at HomeSense today. We were out shopping for a birthday gift, but hey
doesn't hurt to have a look around just in case! I have absolutely no idea where to put it. Right now it is on my filing cabinet. I am waiting for some design inspiration. I WILL find a place for it somewhere I'm sure. I also picked up some rose potpourri - man it sure STINKS! I am going to throw it out. Yuck. The whole house smells gross.

Flea Market

DH and I went to the Flea Market today. After reading so many blogs about all the great finds people get at them, we thought we would give it a try. Very disappointing. Our flea market obviously isn't the same as the ones in the U.S. All we could see was electronics, tools and a lot of Dollar Store type stuff. Nothing much of interest. We did buy some bedding plants and fresh fruit at very reasonable prices, so not a total loss. I suppose I will have to go back to my local thrift stores if I want any really great STUFF.
Here is the 'chamber pot' that I bought yesterday, planted. I am thinking about it going in the front yard - not sure yet.

This Week's Treasure

Found this 'bowl' at Army & Navy. (they called it a bowl lol) It actually looks more like a chamber pot. I only paid $1.99 for it. I figure on planting some pretty flowers in it. Pink of course!
Thrift store finds - ruffled doilies
More finds
Pretty trinket box with pink roses. Sorry the photo is so blurred. I was trying to use the micro setting on it.
Crystal candle holder
Pretty pink candy dish. There was another one that I actually liked better but much pricier. Maybe it was real Depression Glass.

Thetis Island

This past weekend I spent 3 lovely days at a Ladie's Retreat @ Thetis Island.

This is the main dining hall. The grounds there are fabulous and the food is

amazing

A view of the beach. Great spot for beach combing.

Chemainus

On our way to Thetis Island we waited in Chemainus for the ferry. I had only a few minutes to take some photos. Chemainus is one of the most photogenic places I know. I would love to spend the whole day there sometime. Here is one of the famous Chemainus Murals.

A little restaurant near the ferry.
