Re-Designed

I hope you all have noticed how beautiful my new blog design is. While I am still recuperating, I thought it would be nice to treat myself to a new look. Karen from Valentine Design did the background and header for me. I love her attention to detail and how she captures the personality of the individual blogger and creates the artwork. I am so happy with everything she has done for me ( she is such a sweetie). Karen also has a blog My Desert Cottage where she shows other areas of her creative soul. Please go and visit her and leave her a nice comment.

Sew Much Fun

Create Every Day - something I read on someone else's blog. Today I found this gizmo at my local thrift store. (I don't even own a Pfaff machine)
This is what it looks like out of the box. It is called a 'ruffler', and that is exactly what it makes. (by the way, it fits on my machine)

I took some vintage streamer ($.50) and made yards and yards of ruffles. I was giggling and laughing out loud. Who would have thought you could have so much fun for $2.50!
Now, what do you do with crepe paper ruffles?

Well, I started my first multi-media collage using my One Little Word 2010 **PEACE**
Coffee dyed Dollar Store flower, vintage dictionary page.

I'm on my way!

Creative Therapy

I thought I would share with you what I have been making. It is going to be a cross between a scrapbook and an art journal. I am using both vintage and new supplies.
The binder is covered with vintage wallpaper, the pearls, and rub-ons are left-over from scrapbooking. The paper flowers are from the Dollar Store. The key was hanging in my kitchen, but you couldn't see it very well where I had it.

The handmade flower was made from lace that I bought 34 plus years ago to make my own wedding dress. I never did make my dress, because I found one much nicer for a great bargain.
I am going to try my hand at mixed media to fill the binder with pages. I haven't done anything like this before, but I am finding lots of ideas and inspiration on the internet.
**PEACE**
