Christmas Tour 2010

This is my living room/dining room/office for this year. I found this PEACE mirrored ornament for the tree and placed it right up on top. The work PEACE meant so much to me throughout 2010, it was my 'Word of the Year'.
Dad and I added feathers to our tree this year, stunning!

My dove from last year.

My little snow village, displayed in a little different way on top of the filing cabinet, in a forest of snowy trees.

My initial 'P' looks like an 'R' in the photo - oh well.
There are two other Christmas Home Tour posts following this one, I can only load 5 photos at a time in my posts. I have never been able to figure out why.
I am linking up with The Nester - Christmas Tour of Homes
and
Faded Charm Cottage - White Wednesday.
Wishing you all Christmas Holiday Blessings.

Dining Room 2010

This is my magificent cloche, made by- you guessed it - Janis. My DH bought the snowy owl for my Christmas 3 years ago, and it cannot be cleaned. The little ice crystals will just fall off. I have been on the lookout for the perfect protection for it from dust, this is it! It is so beautiful, the two were made for each other, don't you think.
Decorated the bird cage, too. I have birds on the brain this year -l0l

A pretty glittered bird from the craft sale.

I also changed my buffet from teacups with pink roses to all white. I just felt like something a little different. The teacups are all safely tucked away underneath in the cupboard.

Christmas Mantel 2010

This idea came from my friend Janis at Rust & Ruffles
who made some last fall with 'BOO' on them.

This picture was one of my 'cheap and cheerful' crafts. $1.00 frame from the thrift store, spray painted Heirloom White, Vintage music cover printed from off the internet. I think I found it at The Feathered Nest.
I plan on matting it yet, of course using a Dollar Store Matte.

Corner fireplaces are not the easiest to decorate.

My tiny silver tree in a salt shaker was made by my dear friend, Janis. I was very fortunate to be able to go to two of her craft sales this year and also a store where her works of art are sold. Some of the bottle brush trees were made last year by bleaching green trees white and glueing pearls and snow on them. I think they were worth bringing out again.

A Little Shopping Break

These globes are made of light metal, painted white. They are on my WISH LIST.
Just two or three short blocks from my cottage is THE BEST coffee/chocolate shoppe EVER! Some of you may have guessed by now I have a passion for the two, especially together. They make their own special roast of coffee and baking and handmade Belgian chocolates.

One of my other favourite activities is SHOPPING, they also have alot of that as well. Unique and beauiful giftware for anyone on your list - and sometimes even me.

So regardless of what the weather is doing, I am always willing to go for a short walk to Milsean's for a coffee and biscotti. Choosing to either sit by the fireplace and warm up or sit in the sun room and enjoy the scenery.

These photos were taken at the beginning of the Christmas decorating season. They have taken white silk roses, rimmed with silver glitter and clipped them onto silver trees. Very pretty.
I hope you enjoyed your little shopping break with me.

Please Accept My Apology

Most giveaway announcements start with something like 'I WON!', which is how I felt when this fabulous box of creative goodies arrived in my mailbox more than a month ago. I have not been blogging much lately and spending all my available time creating gifts and decorations for Christmas (my excuse) So I have not properly thanked my on-line friend, Deb from {Posted from} Home
The package was FILLED with all manner of elements to be used for my creations yet to come. My favorite items were the vintage bingo card (always wanted one of those) the toille sticky notes, and the Queen for the Day mixed media wall hanging.

But as I said, I am disappointed in myself for not posting a public THANK YOU to Deb much, much sooner.
Please, accept my apology.
