AKA - The One That Got Away!
I was at a thrift store on Thursday but didn't have any photos to show for it. I will attempt to explain.
The store was particularly busy, especially around the linen section. But, that is where I was interested in going. So I waited patiently for my turn to poke through. Jackpot! I found a beautiful lace top sheet, a double which would definitely fit my bed. I picked it up and carried it around the store, feeling pretty happy about my find. I decided to come back to the linens when the others had finished looking and it wasn't so busy. Not being too far away, I overheard several ladies looking over some other items - they all matched the sheet that I had! It had been a set.
I hoped they would pass it up, but that wasn't to be. One of them put the other pieces into her basket. Duvet cover, dust ruffle, pillow shams. They were beautiful.
I continued shopping, trying to ignore the promptings of the Holy Spirit (some of you may call that your conscience) I argued back and forth in my mind. I WANTED THAT BEAUTIFUL SHEET FOR MYSELF. Finally, I decided to do the right thing. I walked over to the woman, asked her politely if she would like the missing, matching piece and offered it to her. She was so touched, she gave me a hug! What gratitude. She was thrilled.
So that is the treasure that I found at the Thrift Store that Thursday. A hug and the peace that comes from knowing that you were a blessing to someone today. That is why there in no photo - lol.

What a wonderful thing for you to do. I think the most important 'good works' we can do, are the ones that don't come easy. I'm sure that woman will remember your kind gesture for a long time.
Oh Pamela...what a wonderful thing to do! I am not so sure I would have been able to do that. May you be blessed many times over for your kindness ! That is something she will remember and tell the story for a lifetime. Blessings~

I have to tell you Pamela that really touched my heart. You were so generous and kind to offer the lovely sheet to the lady. You are the one who will be blessed! Thanks for sharing.
I imagine that she was thrilled by your kindness. Such a lovely thing to do. Blessings - Patti
What a gracious lady you are. Love the way you listened to the Holy Spirits promptings too. I'm sure that was quite a testimony to the lady and as the others mentioned it will be remembered and the story passed on for a long time to come.
Blessings be upon you! "It is more blessed to give, than receive".

Pamela what a lovely thing to do. I have done that a few times myself, but you know what... it wasn't the holy spirit prompting me, it was my Ita (grandma) in my head telling me to be nice, (actually kinda nuding me more like it:) because I would want someone to do that for me one day...and as ALWAYS she was right :)My stars I miss her lovely blues, but at moments like this I know she is with me :) Rose
