Please Accept My Apology

Most giveaway announcements start with something like 'I WON!', which is how I felt when this fabulous box of creative goodies arrived in my mailbox more than a month ago. I have not been blogging much lately and spending all my available time creating gifts and decorations for Christmas (my excuse) So I have not properly thanked my on-line friend, Deb from {Posted from} Home
The package was FILLED with all manner of elements to be used for my creations yet to come. My favorite items were the vintage bingo card (always wanted one of those) the toille sticky notes, and the Queen for the Day mixed media wall hanging.

But as I said, I am disappointed in myself for not posting a public THANK YOU to Deb much, much sooner.
Please, accept my apology.

White Wednesday - PEACE

This is the window in my dining room. When I made the 'PARTY' banner for my grandson's birthday, I enjoyed it so much I thought I would make one for the Christmas season. (The architectural piece on the valance is a new bit)
The embossed white paper does not show up very well in the photo.

And for all of my blogging friends who were worried about my bird being alone (there were quite a few of you), he now has a little bird girlfriend. But still no names yet.
More White Wednesday #75 here.

Little Fuzzy White Bird

I have a multitude of white bird cages around my cottage. I really love them. Funny thing is - none of them have birds in them. Dad and I were out for coffee this afternoon and the coffee shop was beautifully decorated with all things white, shiny and Christmassy. There were some very lovely things, expensive things, too. But this little bird needed a home. He is cute and fuzzy and white.
So home he came (after I paid of course ;0)
I am thinking perhaps he needs a few friends. I just don't have the heart to put them INSIDE the cage.

Looks like there is a great party going on at Kathleen's for White Wednesday #72.

~ Caring is the essence of nursing. ~

Our sweet Daughter-In-Love graduated from nursing school last week. We are so very proud of her accomplishments.
Nurses don't seem to wear caps anymore, but I was fortunate enough to find a vintage one in our own little thrift shop here in town. It needs a good cleaning and starching, but I thought she might like to have it, as a reminder of those who have gone on before her. Anyway, she will get a 'kick' out of it.

Here she is at the celebration dinner with a dozen roses from my dad and the silver and amythest bracelet from DH and me. Son, you picked the best.
Congratulations, Nurse Natasha!
I am linking to White Wednesday #71. Can't wait to see all the other posts!

Creativity is Infectious

One of my favorite Bloggers is Barbara Jean from Treasure's From the Heart
She is creative, sweet, giving and loves collecting treasures. I saw one of her 'Remember' frames on her site a long time ago and kept it on my list of 'things I'd like to make some day'. Then one day I found a frame of the right dimensions, spray painted it the right shade of Heirloom White and cut out some letters to glue onto the vintage music. Voila.
It will hang over my little studio in a closet, and encourage me and remind me to take time to create something every once in awhile.
Thank you Barbara Jean for helping us find our creative way.

You Won't Believe This!

The winner of my 100th Follower Blog Giveaway is Deb from {Posted from}Home. Congratulations, Deb!
I had my sister choose a random number from the number of posts on that date (it was fair and there was no peeking, really.)
Now for the unbelieveable part -
It was Deb's blog that I won a giveaway on just last week. Now, that is just almost impossible to believe, don't you think?
Funny how things happen in Blogland. Hope you enjoy your magazine, Deb!

Angel Art

A few months ago I treated myself to my first piece of artwork by the sweet and talented Dawn Edmonson. I am finally just getting around to posting it here for you all to enjoy, too. Dawn has some pretty pictures on her site here, too.
What a beautiful photo of a young woman this is.

Attention to every detail, flowers included.

But look what I found printed on the photo card, this photo card has travelled from Canada, to a little town south of Atlanta, Georgia - and back north to Canada again from where it started. Sometimes I wished she could talk and tell me the story of her life. I am sure it would be very interesting.
Please be sure to visit Dawn, she has one of the best blogs on the net.
And don't forget to sign up for my little giveaway, too.
Linking up to White Wednesday #68.
Blessings
