Happy New Year to all my friends and followers and folk I haven't met in person.
2012 is off to a great start for me and I have been feeling on top of the world and my Christmas decorations are all put away - a record for me! Now my house looks (naked)

My first project for the year is a new desk to work on my Bible study in my bedroom. It had to be small to fit. It has the perfect dimensions, it will sit right in the window and catch the morning sun. I can hardly wait. My Dad, one of my project managers is going to do the painting. It came already prepped, sanded and filled. How precious is that.

The desk is made, we think, of oak with a walnut veneer. I was thinking of trying the new Anne Sloan Chalk Paint on it. I will check into that on Wednesday. Of course it will be a shade of white.
I think I will keep the original drawer pulls.
She located the perfect piece for us, and after a comedy of back and forth emails, we were finally able to get together for delivery. It made the wait fun. And I got to see her fabulous Christmas tree in the foyer, too. WOW! Colleen gave us a generous deal on the desk, her prices are very reasonable, and she is a bubbly, fun gal to get to know, too. Thank you so much Colleen.
OK Dad, you can paint it now.
