Junk Dreams

Today I wanted to introduce you to a new online friend of mine.
Janis at Junk Dreams.

As it turns out, she lives very close to me. It really is a small world, isn't it.
Janis has a gift to take ordinary 'junk' and turn it into beautiful creations. She has amazing talent.
Janis very generously shares how to make some of her works of art, it you dare to try it for yourself. For those who don't feel artistic, she sells some of her beautiful pieces at a lovely store, The Passionate Home.
Please go and enjoy a visit with Janis, and don't forget to tell her Lady Pamela sent you!

White Wednesday

Today I thought I would share with you some of the great finds I got from HomeSense. From reading other posts, I am thinking our HomeSense is a similar store to the US, HomeGoods.
This mirror hangs in our designated office 'corner'. It has roses carved around the outside.
Here it is up close.

I bought this clock when my sister complained that I didn't have one in the living room. It sits over the cabinet that houses the television.
Both these items, as well as the metal grate that hangs in the stairway, were purchased with a gift card that my son bought me last Christmas. I sure had a great time spending it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and thank you Kathleen for hosting.

You can also find her at her Etsy shop.

Teacup Tuesday

This isn't a real teacup, of course. But it is pretty just the same. The detail is really amazing. It was one of my recent Thrift Store treasures.
Check out Kim's blog for more Teacup Tuesday.

White Wednesday

I have finally decided to take the challenge and post something for White Wednesday. This wonderful porcelain nut cup came in the mail today. (Isn't it amazing how God knows when you need a distraction and sends a special blessing in the mail.)

I just love the detail on it. The cute little 'scoup' that came with it also has the same detailing. It came with a pretty white organza bow tied to the handle. I appreciate such attention to the little extras.I plan on using it during the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays. I know, I know, I am thinking ahead! lol

I ordered it online from a lovely little boutique, Coeur d'Alene.

There are plenty of other great posts for White Wednesday, visit Kathleen at Faded Charm and she will direct you to them. Thank you Kathleen for letting me play.

Thrift Store Thursday & My Summer Vacation

During our travels we visited 10 Thrift Stores in 5 different cities. I had such a great time. Here are a few of my 'treasures'. A crystal salt cellar from Barkerville. That brings my collection to a total of three.
This was also from Barkerville. It is an antique reproduction. For any scrapbookers, you might recongnize the name on the back - Melissa Frances.

Vintage wallpaper, buttons, vintage lace and other crafting supplies.

Two pretty cups for my studio. I am going to use them for a pencil cup.

And of course, it would not be treasure hunting without finding vintage linens. A delicate, crocheted hanky, basket liner and a matlisse pillow sham.

What I Did on My Summer Vacation

We travelled to Fort St. John, B.C. for our family reunion. It is a long road trip, so we did it in two days. I hope to have several posts from our vacation to share with you. Our first stop was in Barkerville. It is an old gold rush ghost town which has been made into a park. In the summer months they have actors in period costumes who walk about the streets as though they lived there over one hundred years ago. They are very informative and amuzing people. We were there as a large family group, which included my dear, sweet grandsons. We had such a great time. I have two mementos to share with you, but I haven't unpacked yet to photograph them.
